Every photographer in the valley knows this iconic photo spot. At sunset, the red rocks at Lost Dutchman State Park glow golden and red. These views are a few steps from your car, and you can avoid paying a fee at the state park entry station.

When my friends visit from out of town, this is my favorite place to take them for sunset.
Driving Directions:
Heading north on Apache Trail, pass the Lost Dutchman State Park entrance and take the next right at First Water Road. The road is not well-marked, but there’s a right turn lane. You can park immediately where the pavement turns to dirt. If the area is full (which it often is at sunset on a weekend), I park a bit further down at Crosscut Trailhead. The dirt road is easily passable in most passenger vehicles, though the washes can get rough after heavy rain.
